straight line intercept online Calculator tool
straight line intercept is divided into horizontal intercept and vertical intercept. The horizontal intercept is the horizontal coordinate of the intersection point of the straight line and X shaft. The intercept is the vertical coordinate of the point where the straight line and Y shaft intersect. To find the intercept you just set Y equal to 0 and find X, and to find the intercept you set X equal to 0 and find Y. For example, y=x-1 the horizontal intercept is 1 and the vertical intercept is -1.
Example: Draw straight line
in Plane Cartesian coordinate system4x+5y-20=0
Solution first intercept on Calculator x shaft and y shaft.
Let y=0, 4x-20=0, x=5;
That is, the intercept on x shaft is 5 and the intercept point is A (5,0).
Let x=0, 5y-20=0, y=4;
That is, the intercept on y shaft is 4 and the intercept point is B (0,4)
